The Original Tall Boy is Back

March 3rd, 2010

Schlitz tall boys are coming back. Pabst Brewing Company announced the relaunch of 16 oz Schlitz tall boys. In 2007, Pabst began selling Schlitz brewed with the “classic 1960s formula.”

Schlitz, which had operated a brewery in Milwaukee, was the first beer brewer to introduce the Tall Boy can in 1960.

“Our drinkers love the Schlitz Classic 60s Formula out of the bottle and on draft and going back to the Tall Boy cans just seemed natural,” said Kyle Wortham, senior brand manager for Schlitz. “Plus, I think our drinkers will get a kick out of the can graphics that even include the original ‘Tall Boy’ script.”

I’m a little disappointed with Pabst. I mean they didn’t even do their research. The original tall boy was a gigantic 24 oz can and was released in 1956. If you are going to do something, do it right guys.
